Motor Vehicle Crash Reports

If you need a copy of a crash report, you may obtain a copy from the Records Bureau. Reports are usually completed between seven to ten business days after the date of the crash. Please call the Records Bureau before you respond to headquarters to confirm that your report is complete. There is a charge for the crash report.

You may also access your crash report online:

If the accident occurred from July 11, 2023 until the present, CLICK HERE

If the accident occurred prior to August 14, 2023, CLICK HERE

If the accident occurred between the dates of July 11, 2023 and August 14, 2023, please check BOTH websites.

Please note, there is also a charge for this service. While accessing the website simply enter your last name, date of the crash, and the incident report number.

OPRA “Open Public Records Act”

For any other report that is not an accident report, you MUST complete an OPRA form which stands for “Open Public Records Act”. You can download a copy of the form by clicking here.

Please make sure to complete all fields in order to expedite your request – The “Records Request Information” box must be as specific as possible in describing the records being requested.

Once you have completed the form you can drop off or mail the completed form to the Borough Clerk’s office for processing at 230 Hamilton Street, Bound Brook, NJ, 08805. You can also email your OPRA form to the Borough Clerk at jmathis@boundbrook-nj.org. (Please do not return your completed form to the Police Department). The Borough Clerk will then contact you when the report is ready for pick up.

You may also choose to pick up a copy of the form at the Borough Clerk’s Office or the Bound Brook Police Department if you are having difficulty accessing it from the Borough website.

No information from police reports is given over the phone.
